Re: Matz

Many of the pre-1939 Polish directories include some government officials, members of the Sejm, etc. but the lists do not cover everyone who worked for the government. I don't know about any comprehensive government directories.

Re: Matz

You can find Erich Artur Matz in the 1940, 1941, and 1942 General Government Telephone Directories (Amtliches Fernsprechbuch für das Generalgouvernement). Search for: "matz erich"~3 These directories are hosted by the Municipal Public Library in Radom, and their website can be quite slow. It might t...

Re: Rathe /Rohmann

What were their given names (vornamen)? Also, can you provide the approximate dates when they lived in Lodz? 1930, 1900, 1880, ...? This will help to focus the search.

Re: Use research on address to find neighbours

You can definitely search for "Muranowska 12" if you include the quotes (") in your search. However, the text snippets shown in the list of search results will have highlighting not only for "Muranowska 12," but also for "Muranowska" and "12." The problem is just with the highlighting in the text sn...

Re: 1936 Polish Bank Accounts PKO

The bank still exists, but I do not know of any additional information, let alone assets, that can be obtained from the bank using the information found in the 1936 directory (which includes the account number). However, I have not pursued that strongly. Perhaps, someone who is an expert on Holocaus...

Re: first name, last name

You raise two questions, how to interpret search results and how best to search. When you have difficulty interpreting the text that appears in the search results, you should always click through to view the image of the document (directory, yizkor book, etc.) from which the text was extracted. The ...

Re: UNIATYCKI Lwow - Antonina KONOPSKA

You need to first install a DjVu plugin for your web browser by visiting one of the two links in the first paragraph of http://genealogyindexer.org/help . Once you've installed the plugin, you should be able to see the matching directory page just by clicking on the directory's title "1910..." that ...

Re: Kuty - Kosov - GALICIA

The only MEHR I find from Kuty in the directories on this site is a family fleeing from Kuty to Vienna because of WWI. In the 1914/1915 Galicia and Bukovina War Refugees Address Directory, Vol. III, you can find: Mehr Mechel, kupiec, Kuty, 5. IX. 914, Wieden, XX., Karl Meisslstrasse 1, 6 os. Image a...

Re: UNIATYCKI Lwow - Antonina KONOPSKA

The 1910 Lwow Address Directory includes a UNIATYCKI on ul. Grodecka: Uniatycki Maryan, blacharz, Grodecka 52 image at: http://genealogyindexer.org/frame/d11/518/d However, there are no UNIATYCKIs in the 1913 edition, which is the next edition searchable on this site (and the next edition I know to ...
