1930 Warsaw Address, Business, and Homeowners Directory

While mostly an address and business directory, this book contains a homeowners list beginning on image 212: http://genealogyindexer.org/frame/d219/212/d . By paging forward until you reach a street of interest, which should appear alphabetically, you can find the names of the owners of the building...

Re: Berlin Jewish Directories 1929, 1931

The 1931 edition has been added to the search engine. You can restrict searches to just this source by appending {d916} to your search term, like this: kalter {d916}.

Re: Berlin Jewish Directories 1929, 1931

Thanks for these requests. Regarding the 1929 edition at LBI, the resolution of the online scans is too low to get good OCR accuracy. However, if high-resolution scans were made from the original or photocopies at LBI, they might work. The 1931 edition at ZLB is already searchable, together with man...

Re: Last name TOR, from Komarów Kadlubiska Poland

There are several places in Poland called Kadlubiska, but only one is near a Komarow, as far as I can tell. That is Komarow-Osada, about 3 mi southwest of a Kadlubiska, in Zamosc County, Lublin Voivodeship. This Komarow and Kadlubiska were part of Galicia only during 1772-1809, after which they were...

Re: Fertelmeister in Starokonstantinov region

The area that is now Starokonstantinov Raion is included in directories covering the entire Russian Empire or just Volhynia Gubernia. However, I do not see any matches for the surname Fertelmeister. I am currently trying to acquire more directories for Ukraine, from both before and after 1917. This ...

Re: Searching for Mayerowitz

Some territory that is today in Ukraine was formerly in Poland or the Austro-Hungarian province of Galicia. Currently, when you restrict the geographic scope of your search by changing "Any Place" to "Ukraine," results will NOT include directories classified under Poland or Galicia in the list at ht...

Bessarabia directories not searchable

The following directories for Bessarabia are viewable online, but not yet searchable on this site because the resolution of the online images is too low to permit accurate OCR: http://elib.shpl.ru/ru/nodes/3231-bessarabskiy-kalendar-na-1888-g-visokosnyy-god-shestoy-kishinev-1888#page/1/mode/grid/zoo...

Re: 1939 Directory of Poland

With the default search options, all sources will be searched, including the 1939 Poland Telephone Directory. If you want to restrict your search to only the 1939 Poland Telephone Directory, append {d765} to your search term, like this: kalter {d765}. The main reason you would want to restrict a sea...

Re: 1936 Polish Bank Accounts (PKO)

how can i find my grand father account Searching by surname is the best way to find a person in this directory. To limit your search to only this directory, append {d82} to the surname, like this: Jaglom {d82}. If you also want to include the 1938 edition, but nothing else, append {d82, d697}, like...
