Dificulty Accessing "1910 Krakow and Podgorze Directory"

Post by Prof Y » Thu Jun 18, 2020 11:03 pm

Help will be greatly appreciated:

I am having difficulty accessing "1910 Krakow and Podgorze Address and Business Directory" in https://genealogyindexer.org/directories#Poland (under the Krakow list)

The provided link goes to
http://www.mtg-malopolska.org.pl/images ... a1910.djvu
But as much as I've tried - with several djvu reading tools - I could not access any page in this specific document (1910 - which I need for my research).

Thank you very much for any help.
Y

I am able to view this .djvu file in two ways:

1) With the desktop application DjView (http://djvu.sourceforge.net/djview4.html), entering the URL via File > Open Location.

2) In the Chrome web browser using both the old Cuminas DjVu plug-in (https://www.cuminas.jp/en/downloads/download?pid=1) and the IE Tab extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... mmjbdenadd). The plug-in used to work by itself, but changes in recent versions of Chrome created a problem that the IE Tab extension solves.

I am not connected with any of the above software and this is not an endorsement, I am just saying what works for me.

Note that if you are viewing a page from Genealogy Indexer search results (rather than leaving the site via a link under the list of sources at /directories), for 99% of sources, you should not have viewing problems caused by .djvu because of automated workarounds implemented by me or the host websites. I have not had time to add workarounds for the remaining cases.
